When we are going to ask for a budget for the reform of a bathroom, the first product we look at is ceramic. Tiles are the base product with which we began to build our project, and it is interesting to be clear about what type of tiles will mark the decoration of our bathroom.
However, from our point of view and experience, we think that the price of tiles should not completely determine our choice. Of course, every detail adds up and influences the bathroom budget. But, although it is essential to do your own numbers, we believe that the decision to buy more or less cheap tiles will not be a determining factor in overall spending.
And it is important to bear in mind that:
- The tile is the only product that we will keep throughout the life of the bathroom, unless we consider a new work. That is why it is not worth repenting in the future.
- It is the most resistant material of all the elements that make up the bathroom. A tile will remain as the first day despite the passage of time and the use we give it.
First of all, we must bear in mind that the workforce will be the same regardless of the price of the tile. In addition, we are likely to avoid problems by choosing materials of a certain quality. Problems such as material breaks or gauge changes, which can harm and delay the installation of the material.
There are several price ranges within the tile collections. Between € 10 and € 15 we can find a large number of tile models to make the bathroom to our liking.
There are another multitude of tile designs between € 19 and € 23 per m2. These models are usually larger and rectified, such as the Cosmopolitan beige 30x90 Metropol tile.
From there, depending on brands, designs and measurements, there are collections where we will find quite a difference in prices. Most of us no longer contemplate buying tiles for more than € 25 / m2. We will only do it if we want to have something very different from other brands.
And it is that below € 25 per m2 we will find € 80 of the market offer.
Let's do numbers .....
We have a bathroom with 20 m2, which could be the average. Imagine that we are undecided between a € 12 model that we like less, and a € 18 model that better suits our needs. Between the choice of the most expensive and the cheapest tiles, € 120 could influence the total of the work.
However, we see that once this choice is made, we do not pay as much attention to other products, such as the screen, the bathroom cabinet or the toilet.
By switching to a cheaper model in at least one of these products we would already make up the difference in price with the budget. Also taking into account that, both the bathroom furniture, as the taps and the rest of the elements, we can change it quite easily if we wish. What's more, surely its own use forces us to do it even if we don't want to.
The average price of a shower screen can be around € 350. Depending on whether we want a single fixed, sliding or folding screen, we can lower our budget by at least € 200. More than with the tile!
On the other hand, in the bathroom furniture catalog you can choose furniture from € 250 to € 800. Here is an immense range of price possibilities where we can adjust our budget.
With this, we invite you to see on our website the variety of tile models, prices that are marked per complete box, all with VAT included.
